I agree that this is an interesting topic. One thing I've learned is that, for me, it's important to carry A LOT in my own home and around my own property just to get a feel for my equipment, especially when making any changes... even seemingly simple things like new belts, for instance.
Mundane example: I'd never had an embarrasing carry moment before last week...
I had been to the doctor's (where I had removed my 9mm before going in, as usual) then stopped for a few groceries afterward. While sitting in the car, I casually slipped my IWB holstered gun inside my beltline as usual but DIDN'T REALLY CHECK THE WAY IT WAS PLACED THOROUGHLY. It must have ridden up too high as I bent way over to get one of those little plastic shopping baskets near the floor... but I was completely oblivious to it. Exactly at the moment I'm walking past one of the store managers THE GUN, STILL COMPLETELY HOLSTERED, COMES BOUNDING OUT OF MY PANTS AND CLATTERS TO THE FLOOR. I've been going to this store regularly for years. The manager gives me a very strange surprised look but doesn't say a word (and simply continues with his work stacking shelves). I say "whoops..." quickly grab the gun up, stuff it back in my pants, then whirl around, put my basket back, and walk straight out of there, get in my car and drive home. Very embarrasing... I've changed grocery stores... Won't set foot in there again for a long while. So, I've chalked that up to experience and am now MUCH MORE AWARE of holster-and-belt-security issues. Fortunately it wasn't too big of a deal... Even though it happened at the front of the store, I don't think more than one or possibly two other people besides the manager actually glimpsed the gun, but still... I was kinda mortified. Couldn't believe it woulda' happened... till it happened. Live and learn. Be careful.
