Hand size and USP vs. P7M13

I've been intrigued by the P7M13 and P7M10 but have never held one. I have small hands and do find my USP 9c and P7M8 to be quite comfortable. I would like to consider getting a P7M10 but was wondering whether it would be too big as a range weapon. Other problem is trying to find one. One guy at the Dallas gun show wanted $1800 for his, is this too much. Thanks in advance. :)

The M10 isn't exactly elegant looking (huge slide), but the M13 might be nice. The P7 control layout makes hand size something of a non issue, so it would probably work out better than the USP, which isn't bad anyway.

I shot the M13 first then bought the M8. The single stack grip is more comfortable. The M10 is IMO the ugliest P7. :)

Thanx everybody!
Mainly interested in the P7M10 because I wanted to add a .40 caliber pistol and thought it might have a lesser recoil vs. other pistols (I've tried sigs and USP's). Agree its an ugly sibling to the more elegant p7. I don't see these being available on-line very frequently.

If you look around, you'll see about 10 M8's for every M13; and about 10 M13's for every M10. IMO the M13 grip circumference feeels about the same as a USP.

I own the P7M13 M10 and M8.. My favorite is the M10. It shoots with little kick and the grip is comfortable in my large hands. It is better balanced, softer shooting and more accurate than my Glock 35. I have a safe full of guns and the P7M10 is at the very top. Call it ugly, but I must disagree.

Unless you are buying for your collection only, definitely try the P7M10 grips in your own hand before buying. It, like the P7M13, has been compared to holding a brick, especially for smaller hands.

The reason why there are so few available is that they are no longer available whereas the P7M8 is still being manufactured and unloaded as police refurbs. Supply and demand.

I have 2 HK's: the 9mm USPc and the P7M13. Both are excellent guns. I find the P7M13 grip slightly thicker than the USPc's, but not by much. The P7M13 shoots better, though, because it is heavier (and maybe because of the gas recoil) and therefore kicks less. I love both, but would go with the P7M13 if I had to choose just one.

I'd go with the P7M13 over the P7M10 if for no other reason than finding leather for the P7M13 will be much easier (it uses P7M8 or P7 PSP leather).

I paid 985.00 for mine in pretty good shape with one mag about a year ago.

I find a two handed grip on a M10/13 feels very comfortable, even for average size hands. The M8 can be gripped by one hand easier for the average sized hand, but don't you usually hold a gun with both hands ... I do. When I hold the M8 with both hands, it feels a bit small compared to the M10/13, but they both operate the same way ... balanced, accurate beyond belief, and never a jam!

I just picked-up an OWB Kydex holster made by Blade-Tech for the P7M10. It holds the gun against the body and is easy to draw, but secure. You can customize cant, belt size, or go paddle should this be your choice. It is a great holster and can be had by ordering one from them. You don't even need to provide your gun and the fit is perfect. I ordered mine from Ron Delia at randelentinc@cs.com
