hand gun in South Dakota

I'm going Hunting in South Dakota in October for Pheasant. I'm shipping my Shotguns in a Locked case (with wheels even). My question is since I'm going to a state that reciprocates with Florida, can I throw my 9mm hand gun in the case with my Shotguns as long as I declare it at the airport with my shotguns? Thanks:)

Reciprocal permit has nothing to do with it. If you are legal to possess the handgun at the destination, which you are in South Dakota regardless of your permit status, there is no problem transporting it in checked baggage. Many people confuse possession, transporting and carrying - they are three completely separate actions.

Your CCW has nothing to do with transporting your 9mm to SD. Call TSA and your airline for transporting regs. Then, while in SD your concealed or open carry etc will fall under SD law.

Yes, delcare them both to transport them. Check out S. Dakota laws to make certain you can carry the hand gun there once you arrive.
