I know its prolly been touched on many times...i know its technically same powder...anyone ever shoot them side by side in same exact case and primer and bullet combo to check point of impact ?

The 'H' 4831's have the same burn rate and are exactly the same. The 'SC' was developed to flow through throwers more easily and nothing more. Shouldn't be any difference in the POI.

I use both powders, but in different cases. I try to keep the loading density at a point where the powder is close to the top of the seated bullet without making a compressed load.

Whether doing this is really necessary for hunting load accuracy is unknown to me at this time. I have never done a head to head accuracy comparison using both H4831SC and the standard cut H4831 in the same case.

I may very well get by using only the SC version but it makes ME feel good to do things this way.

I haven't used H4831 and H4831SC, but I have used IMR7828 and IMR7828SC and didn't find any POI shifts between the two using the same charge weight in a 300 Win Mag.

Thanx guys....never could find the sc and have now just found it so i will be doing some testing on some established loads for sure...
