H & R Pardner/N.E. Handi-Rifle - w/ extra barrels

I have both a Pardner 12 Ga., with a 3" Mod., and a Handi Rifle in a .270 Win, with a scope rail. I'm considering sending one of them in for a more powerful 12 Ga. barrel, such as the 3 1/2" turkey, with the extra steel choke for shooting geese. Any suggestions and/or experiences with these add-ons?

I would use the rifle frame,, it will give you more options,, there are several barrels that MArlin/H&R will not fit to the shotgun frame.

And while its there have them do the trigger job on it, IMO its worth the money

Shotgun barrels can be fit to rifle frames, but they will not fit rifle barrels to shotgun frames. While they look alike they are made differently - at least that's my understanding.

And I really dont think you'll want to shoot a single-shot shotgun with a 3 1/2" 12 ga. Mag.! It'll knock the fillings out of your teeth! My suggestion would be to have your present 12 ga. barrel refit with screw-in choke tubes and use an Xtra-Full choke for turkeys.
