H & R Pardner 20 worth buying and fixing?

A friend has a 20 gauge H & R Pardner that he says quit on him while hunting doves. I attempted to fire it and it looks like the strike was on the outer rim of the shell rather than the primer, leading me to believe whatever holds the hammer in alignment, such as a pin, broke and the hammer slipped out of position. Either tha or the firing pin itself broke? Not sure why it would leave an indent at all in that case, or why it would be so far off the mark.

How hard of a fix is this, and should I give him 40 bucks for the gun and still be able to find the part and have it fixed?

not sure its worth it I see they made a pump and the single shot both called pardner if its a single you would likely end up having more in it than its worth.

you can go to there website and get the owners manual wich should have a parts breakdown if you want to research it more.

IIRC the Pardner pump is on sale monthly for about $200 in California at Big 5 Sporting Goods. Similar offers are likely found in your local stores. Its a Chinese made knock off of a Remington in many aspects.

I had a similar case. Gun went back for repair.
I never used it again after such an unexpected failure.
Sold it off after it came back.
Although repaired, I had no confidence in it and bought a really good quality Browning. That shotgun ran flawlessly.
