O.K. I need to know if the hammer should sit firmly against the frame after fireing or does it set back from the frame. The gun shoots but the hammer sets back with some looseness to it. Can you let me know please. Thanks

The hammer will not rest against the frame because of the transfer bar safety . The transfer bar only falls when the trigger is pulled , the rest of the time it rests between the hammer and frame keeping the hammer out of contact with the firing pin . As per design !

Thanks for the help. I guess it works the same when the fireing pin is part of the hammer.
