Picked up a Harrison and Richardson Model 165 Leatherneck .22lr today at the gunshow. Picked up 2 more magazines.
Got it home, cleaned it up, the rifling looks good; now just need a nice day to go and try it out.

Hopefully, it will work well for this summers Appleseed.

Range finally opened today. Was windy as heck though.
Found that the rifle doesn't like Winchester Super X HV, Winchester Wildcat 22 HV or American Eagle HV.
It would reliably cycle Remington Golden Bullet 22 HV.

Now for a less windy day to see how it groups.

Nice looking gun, never seen one before. Hope you have a better day to shoot next time. I Really need to get a .22 plinker rifle.

Good luck on your next shooting. :)

The H&R Model 65 WAS a Reising design and the following "65" series are of the same design. H&R had a contract with Eugene Reising to produce his center fire subguns as well as the .22lr training rifles, back in the 1940s.

True. Mine, marked "USMC" also has a safety that operates identically to that used on the Garand.
