H&R 999 rear sight blade

I was given a H&R 999 sportsman by a aunt of mine that bought it in the early 90s. She didn't want it anymore because she could not hit anything with it, so she gave it to me. Upon inspection I noticed it didn't have a rear sight. Both the adjustment screws are still there but no sight blade. No wonder she couldn't hit anything. Anyone know where I can get a replacement? And is there anything I need to know about the gun? I only own 3 revolvers and two of them being a little older and given to me from family so I do not know much about them.

XDforty5,

Wisner's Inc. offers replacement rear sight blades.
2 thicknesses available.
You will probably need the thicker one, I think it is ,090
I have bought a couple, and they will maybe need some hand fitting.
The 999's are known to have the sight blade screws work loose, causing loss of the blade, been there!!
When you get the new blade, and get the windage set, take 1 of the adjusting screws out, and put a drop of blue loctite on the threads, then do the other.
Will save you grief in the future!
