H&R 999 help with missing rear sight

Hi all,
I don't have a parts schematic for this revolver. My father in law has one sans rear sight blade. Their are two screws projecting into the catch mechanism, those seem to be the parts that would retain the rear sight blade, but there is no blade there. Are there any other parts in the rear sight assembly, other than the blade? I already have a supplier for the sight blade. The pistol is in NY, so I can't post pics yet. If anyone could post a blowup of an intact sight I would really appreciate it.
thanks,
Poodle

There's just the blade and 2 screws. The bottom of the blade is a dovetail so the screws hold it in place and allow windage adjustment. I put a couple of shims made from a .22 LR case to get some elevation,

I lost my rear sight blade once due to loose screws. Bought a new one from Numrich (www.e-gunparts.com).

While we're talking about the 999, any way to lighten that awful trigger pull? Been thinking about buying a couple of spare hammer springs and clipping them down just to experiment...

BAH! I've looked at Numrich's parts list, and they list 2 different width's of rear sights for the 999! One is .070", the other is .090". Unfortunately, this pistol is in another state, and the current owner doesn't own a caliper. Is there any reference online as to when this change was made (serial number range). If anyone could provide the width of their rear sight along with a relative age of the pistol, first few digits of SN,etc. I would greatly appreciate it.
thanks,
PS

My 929 SN AF73XXX has a .090" sight. I don't have any late model Yankee coins handy, but perhaps you could use one as a gauge.
