Hello all-I just purchase a H&R 939 that has an incorrect mainspring assembly installed. I have ordered the correct part from Numrich. My question: It looks like there is a pin that goes through the mainspring rod that notches into the guide seat. After installing the assembly into the gun, do you then remove that pin so the spring will expand and keep tension on the seat? TIA

The hole is to aid in assembly/disassembly. If the spring and guide are in the gun, cock the hammer, then insert a paper clip into the hole and release the hammer. The spring, guide and guide seat can then be removed as a unit. If you ordered the three parts, they may come together with a pin through the hole, allowing you to just install the parts, cock the hammer, and remove the pin. If the three parts come separately, you it will be best to use a vise or a clamp to pre-assemble the unit as described.
