Just picked up a Harrington & Richardson in beautiful condition, SN# T16336 any idea on the date of manufacture? It says "SPORTSMAN" on the barrel and no rib and no model number, jeweled hammer, 6" blued barrel. It looks alot like the 999. Thanks ahead of time.

Blackhorse,
The T prefix of the serial # = 1957 manufacture.
And yes, A Sportsman of that year, is a model 999.
I have 2 1955 models, 1 blue, 1 chrome.
1 has factory box and paperwork.

If you are interested, I have a copy of my 1955 owner's manual. I could email you a copy.
Not really much info, just kind of neat to have.
Best

You have a nice handgun.
They shoot well and are reasonalbly accurate.
Accuracy seems to be gun specific from what I've been told.
Most model 999's will easily put the bullet on paper at 50 yds.
Some are better than that. Most people that used to own them will pay just about any amount within reason, to get another one back in their hands.
I just sold a 4" Model 999 in 99% condition for $350.00 in an estate sale. Yours is worth at least that, and possibly more for sure.

Blackhorse,
Will do!
I just checked my files, and the 1955 manual is the only one I don't have in there!! Go figure.
I will get it scanned and filed and sent to you soon.
Wow!
We have for sure stomped some of the same ground.
I am from Seward. About 20 miles west of Lincoln.
Used to work in Lincoln, also would go to Lincoln a couple times a week for shopping, dining, etc.
Now it seems, I only get there for Dr. appointments. about once a month.
Good town, can get about anything, yet not so big as to have all the bad stuff that happens in the " real " cities.
Do you have any other H&R's ?
Jim

Hi, guys,
I live in Lincoln and I sure would like a copy of the Manual for my H&R 999.
Jamesjo, can you send the scanned image to a Kinko's/Fed Ex in Lincoln where I can pay for it and pick it up?
Best,
Martin

MQP,
I would be happy to help out a Nebraska boy!!
Especially a H&R fan.
Do you knoe what year your 999 is?
I have a couple different manuals, and I would like to send you the copy that is closest to your year of manufacture.
Why kinko's? Can't I just email it to you, or don't you have a printer?
If nothing else, I could print a copy, and snail mail it to you.
Send me the letter prefix of your serial # to determine datre of manufacture, and I will get the manual to you.
Jim
