Everybody, I have no idea whether I'm simply behind the times or what, but this just EXPLODED into my attention.

A bill currently on the docket for the 111th Congress is H.R. 45. I've attached the text of the bill, read it and get ANGRY! The basic gyst is that semi-auto firearms (as well as ALL handguns) will be subject to registration and tracking each time it changes hands, regardless of type of sale, as well as requireing ALL owners of such guns to be licensed by the Attorney General, with no literature given about the offices' obligation to respond to a properly submitted application.

Holy crapoly this screams IMPORTANT, and every gunowner should call/email/write their congressman (or woman) and give them hell to keep this from becoming law if AT ALL POSSIBLE. This is basically the first of the "common sense restrictions" we've been hearing about from our beloved (HA!) new president, but its gotta pass legislation before it gets to his itchy signing pen.
