H&K USP vs SIGPRO in 9mm. Which one is the overall better gun? Which one is more reliable, has the least felt recoil, and most accurate?

The HK is hands-down a better pistol, IMO. I have no use for the Sig Pro's at all, and though I don't own either I have handled and fired both enough to know that there's a world of difference, and it's all in favor of the HK.

Hk...

The Hk, hands down. The SigPro, in my opinion, felt junky. And I just couldn't trust my life to a gun that felt "junky". Everything about the Hk on the other hand, feels high quality.

I am not the unbiased opinion you're probably looking for. I was not the happiest of Sig 220 owners. Couldn't wait to unload that thing.
My USP 45 on the other hand has been so dependable, I actually called it boring...no failures of anykind at the 2500+ round count so far, 5 shots 1" to 1 1/2" hole at 20 yards consistently, will eat whatever I feed it, and holds more rounds in the magazine compared to the Sig...go w/ the HK!

HK. The USP series, while not up to the standard of the P7 series are excellent pistols. The SigPro on the other hand is not really an outstanding firearm and pale in comparison to Sigs Classic P series. If you going to get a Sig stick with a 220, 228, 229 etc...

I would choose the H&K hands down over the SIG Pro. I think the H&K wins in all departments (accuracy, reliability, probably on felt recoil as well).

The SigPro sits much higher in the hand, accentuating recoil. The SigPro 2340 I fired was reliable though. Hundred of rounds with no malfunctions.
The H&K seems to be more accurate. I say seems to be because I became a better shot in the time afterwards, before I experienced the SigPro. Combat accuracy, the SigPro seems fine. Absolute accuracy, the H&K no doubt.

I owned two Sig pistols--the P225 and the P226.

When it came time to buy a polymer bodied gun, I considered the SigPro but just didn't like it as much as the HK USP compact.

I'm sure the SigPro is a good gun, it's just not as nice as the USP when you hold them side by side...

Just my two cents. I voted with my pocketbook.

I have not shot the HK and therefore I have no comment.

I have put two thousand rounds through my SigPro without a hitch. It is a gun that is well worth the money and considerably less $ than the HK.

My SigPro 2340 in .357SIG was 100% reliable, a very good shooter and much less expensive than a USP. HK makes fine pistols, but I seriously doubt that a USP is worth 20-50% more than a SigPro. If it wasn't for the fact that I've sworn off "magazine crippled" large pistols, I'd buy another SigPro in a heartbeat. They are really undervalued and not properly appreciated. Also, I think they're among the best-looking polymer-framed pistols out there, along with the Walther P99.

My main beef with USPs has always been the price, the too-sharp grip checkering, and the looks, especially the ungainly and clunky-looking USP Compact. I also think that the USP Compact grip is just way too fat for eight rounds of .45ACP.

I've owned both and currently have a SigPro 2340 in 357SIG and 40S&W and a 2009 in 9mm. I prefered the SigPros as evidenced by the fact I still have them and the HK is gone. I also have a 226, 225 and 230 so can compare the Classic and the SigPro.

The SigPros are true SIG's in every way. And man do they shoot well. At the current price point they have to be one of the best deals out there.

I prefer the HK not only from a shooting side, but also as an armourer. I can (and do) change parts in my HK. No problem, and parts aren't too bad. The SIG is a different story. It is a modular design, meaning that ALL of the fire control parts are in one unit. If you need to replace one spring, you replace the WHOLE module. SIG does not sell the parts seperately, only the modules. Compared to my HK USP, the SIG Pro has WAY too many springs throughout.

Both guns are reliable. I've found my HK to be a bit more corrosion-resistant in the internals.

Get whichever one shoots better for you. It is quite possible to get a SIG Pro cheap, but HKs can be had for maybe $100-$150 more (and in my opine, worth it).

Thank you armourer Charmedlyfe. I really appreciate your information. I have a HK USP and love it but I am tempted to buy a Sig Pro.
