H&K Tactical ?

I've owned an H&K Tactical for some time now. Thursday, I bought another one at a really good price. Anyway, I never shot any of my reloads through it; just factory ammo.

Any of you guys/gals shoot reloads through your USP's? If so, any problems?

I've never had any problems shooting my reloads through my USPs. I normally reload jacket bullets as I've found that unjacketed lead is a little more dirtier to work with (plus the potential lead hazard to the body). I use a Dillon RL550B so no auto bullet loading system, have to use my hands. I do have some lead rounds left that I use through my other regularly rifled guns. I also tend to load on the hot side towards maximum.

I regularly run handloads through my Tactical. My practice round is a 200 gr SWC from Lazercast over 4.5 gr of Bullseye. I ordinarily shoot 100 rounds per session (have to have time to shoot my other guns!), and I've not had a leading problem with the barrel. Even though the manual prohibits cast loads, I've experienced no problems. I do, however, clean the gun meticulously after every rangetrip. Good luck.

Son,

I have a USP45F and a MK23. I shoot reloads through both. I do however shoot jacketed bullets through instead of lead. I have probably 6000 of these rounds through the USP and 500 or so through the MK23. I agree with James that if you meticulously clean the barrel and make sure that the loads dont cause excessive leading you should be able to use lead bullets with no problem.

Enjoy the second Tactical,
EQP

I have a USP45F and shoot ONLY my lead and jacketed reloads in it and in 5000 rounds I haven't had any problems. When I shoot lead, I do use one of those bore-snake cleaners every 50-100 rounds.

I took it to the range this evening and man, it shoots soo sweetly. My buddy is buying my old one. When I bought the first one, I paid $725 for it from a dealer going out of business. When my buddy buys it, I completely make my money back and end up with this new tactical.

Only problem I experienced this evening was brass flying back in my face. Thank god I actually wore shooting glasses today. One would have plucked me right in the eye.

I guess it's time to give my smith a call.

The USPs will fire almost anything. Reloads are not a problem. The only problem I had was with really cheap reloads because the primers weren't seated properly or the bullet wasn't in all the way. Nothing would have fired those rounds, and I never bought from that company again (Ammo Direct).

Where did you find a nice price on the Tactical? I've been looking for someone who has decent prices on new or used H&Ks.

Mikul,
I bought the Tactical from a local gun shop. There's a place I saw online that has them dirt cheap. When I remember where I saved the link, I'll email it to you.

Here's a link to the two new family members. The Les Baer is old.

Nice shooting. I wish my 50ft shots were that good.

Which shop? I don't think you're THAT far from me in PA.
