H&K 416

I was just curious if anyone had any experience with the rifle. I really like H&K weapons and this looks like one nice version of the M4 type rifles. I was especially interested in the 10.5" barrel model. Any responses appreciated.
 
You wouldn't be thinking of the MR556 would you? My friend has one, he has found it to be the most incredible AR that he's had.
 
I've read good things about it. But that being said its gonna be expensive. If you have the money and the requirements for SBRs while wanting something different and a piston driven AR go for it.
 
personal experience you're not getting anything special with the price they charge for it. aside from spare parts being more expensive, you also have bolt reliability issues and less accuracy from a piston gun. any DI rifle will perform just as well and cost less. don't jump on the 416 hype
 
You may want to look at the Sig 516 Piston AR rifle too. Haven't seen/used a SBR model but the normal ones are great. (This is saying alot since I am definitely not an AR fan.)
 
From firsthand experience, accuracy on HK416s is poor (> 4 MOA with green tip), or at least was with the ones some of our ODAs were running in 2007-08. What RGR3/75 said about skipping the hype is consistent with my experience with them also.
