GunWorld selling us out...

Read the last page of GunWorld magazine and decide for yourself if they are selling us out. They explain how S&W didn't do anything wrong, and how they will continue to showcase their products. I am calling for a boycott of GunWorld! Anybody with me?

Whenever anybody sells it in San Antonio, then I won't buy it.

It doesn't have a high presence here.

Advertising sells the rags. SW has a new line of guns - the SC revolvers - so expect ads and reviews.

We need a new breed of gun magazine...how about The Firing Line. This can represent all all aspects of firearms. Instead of the usual hacknead writers (who never pick up a gun they didn't like) the TFL could be much like the Forum we enjoy over the internet. It's story writers could be anyone that has a valid opinion and ability to write somewhat...of course the editors inchief could function much like our moderators and select and polish up the submitted material.

Now, is that not a Hottentot idea or what?

Soldier of Fortune is still the best of its kind. Is there another.
Apparently there is some PC pressure to keep it off newstands.

You have to be there when it's all over. Otherwise you can't say "I told you so."

Better days to be,

I agree, that would be a great idea! The Firing Line magazine. Non-biased, real gun reviews from real people! Also, Soldier of Fortune is really the only magazine I buy anymore. They are the real deal, too. Right away they condemned the S&W sell-out, with "Boycott Smith and Wesson!" on their editorial. All kinds of interesting articles, too. Their writers have "been there and done that", also.

Slick & Wesson has a new series of lightweight alloy guns that they were bragging about vigorously at the NRA annual meeting in May. That is, when they weren't scraping the "Boycott S&W" stickers off the front of their display.

And Bob, they had the Schofield 2000 on display too. Looked great.

I'll still never buy any of them.

Yes, sister. Except there exist multipliers
to make a boycott effective:
1) Find out who owns the rag, and boycott all the other publications of the owners', advertising their treasonous ways wildly;
2) Tell other advertisers in the rag that
they will beboycotted as well if they continue to advertise in the treasonous
publication.
Know how many dealers are willing to sell
S&W slimewear after having been informed that
anyone helping S&W to survive will be boycotted _himself_? Between zip and zilch.
There are more devious ways to hurt the creepers, but they are not printable in a family forum.

Almost every gun mag I have picked up in the last 3 months has an article about how S&W
didn't do anything wrong. Of course elsewhere in some of these mags, S&W is being berated by someone.

Another thing I find kind of odd
is a lot of these mags are writing articles on airguns, is this some kind of hint of things to come.

It seems like they are more concerned with keeping circulation numbers high, the dumb b*stards will lose the 1st along with the 2nd

The SC line by SW has an ad in the latest Combat Handguns. It said they have Scandium in the frame for strength. Whatever.

I seem to recall some rag - maybe SOF having an editorial which was simply lines of
Boycott SW in a large font for the page length.

Barnes and Noble has SOF.

i liked the old, out in the field, written by mercs soldier of fortune.

Thanks, Glenn. By the way Longshot, just because I'm interested in seeing/reading about one of their products doesn't mean that I'll be buying one. I read about a lot of things that I have no intention of ever buying.

I also have noticed the proliferation of airgun articles, and SASS articles. That's been going on for a while. A sign of what's to come, or what they believe is coming.
