I should be getting a Boyd's Tacticool unfinished for my 10/22 at the end of the month. I'm trying to figure out a good finish to apply.
One option is to use Krylon. What do people prime with when doing a Krlon job? Will it turn out ok if done with rattle cans? This with good surface prep should turn out acceptable, but will hide the wood.
Second, I'm thinking about doing an oil based finish of Minwax using a blue stain. Will I be able to get a reasonably high gloss out of this kind of finish?
Is there a better third option which I can use to finish this stock without investing in an airbrush?
