Gunsmithing classes in Phoenix area?

I posted this in the general area first--maybe it would be better here. Being a nuts-and-bolts kind of person, I would like to get to know firearms on a more technical level. Does anyone know of any gunsmithing courses (even non-degree classes) for offer in the Phoenix Valley area? If not, how about any shops willing to take on part-time apprentices? Appreciate it--I've already learned much just by reading posts here for a couple weeks.

Dusty Dan, I was trying to think of any place near you, but I can't. I lived in Tucson for 25 years and the only place I can think of is in Trinidad, CO. Great school, neat place..

Good God,, how on earth did I forget that one.. I am just getting too old or it is the water here. Well iut would get Dusty Dan outa Phoenix, not real far, but at least cooler weather.

I've researched the program at Yavapai and it looks like a great course. Alas, I unfortunately have too many irons in the fire here to live up there for a year full-time while still trying to work, and they don't have a compressed weekend course, which I might actually be able to do. With Ruger being up there I understand it, but I'm in the fifth-largest city in the country in a gun friendly state, and we don't have any programs here?
Thanks for the input, though.
