Gunsmith Advice on Gun Stock

Hello all. I have never done any kind of installation to a firearm.
I have a remington SPS tactical and I bought a Bell and Carlson medalist stock to replace the factory stock. I was wondering is this a task that a person of no experience can complete or should I take it to the Smith? My Smith is backed up 9 to 10 weeks and I want to shoot tomorrow. It is supposed to be able to drop in and the process doesn't seem too complicated. Any suggestions/Advice??
 
You got to start do things by yourself sooner or later.
Gunsmith is no magician, gunsmith is a simple mechanic who happens to do work on guns. If you figured you want this stock, it assumes you have some idea. If you run into problem, research it and solve it. If you can not resolve
the problem, just wait for 10 weeks.
 
New stock

When installing the new stock......

1).Tighten down trigger guard screw very snug.

2).Forearm screw: tighten to the point you can slip a dollar bill between the barrel and forearm ....if you torque down the forearm screw to much accuracy may be compromised ,and bullet holes all over the target ....the barrel needs to float ! :D

Seems to me that LokTite has a formula that doesn't weld the screw in but holds it firmly so it won't back out. You don't have to destroy the screw (or bolt) to get it out.

Nobody is born with the tools in their hands. When you're that young it's too hard to hold on to the crescent and butter knife.:)
