Gunslinger.....

Am I the only one who doesn't understand the shortycicle thing? If I am, could you just 'splain for me? It's driving me nuts!

It's actually simple....yet more than a little strange.
On the weekend of August 12th & 13th Terridarri and I hosted a meet for TFL members at our place in Missouri. We live in the country and two driveways to the west is a circus (which shall remain nameless) where circus animals are kept for circuses across the US and Canada. It seems that back in Feburary of this year the head elephant handler, Shorty, passed away. We learned on Friday that the owner of the circus had frozen the Shorty until the circus circuit was over and his fellow circus people could attend services. The plan was to thaw Shorty for that same weekend and have an elephant drawn percession go past our place to the cemetary. That night while discussing how bizar it was someone asked if Shorty was per chance a midget....or to be politically correct a little person. It turns out he was. One of the members then asked if, since he was frozen, that would be called a Shortycicle.
The following day it was decided by the circus owner that it was too hot for the elephants to parade down the road. (This would lead one to believe that these were Artic elephants and not the common garden variety African or Indian type.) Therefore there was great disappointment that we missed the parade. We were promised a Shortycicle and we wanted a Shortycicle.

I was promised a Shortycicle and I want a Shortycicle!

We waited and waited for the parade to go by ... then here comes the vehicle caravan and just whipped by Gunslinger's place on the way to the cemetary! What the hey! That was no parade! We want a Shortycicle! We want a Shortycicle!

There went the elephant wagon followed by thirty or so cars and trucks. There we were standing by the roadside ... about 25 WELL-armed, open-carrying admirers with pouts on our faces. Bummer. Rest assured, the caravan didn't linger on the way by.
