gunscrubber and plastic

I was cleaning my 870 reciently and i still had a little gun scrubber on my hands, and when i went to touch the plastic, it turned white. does anyone know of a way to get rid of the discoloration?

can i paint over it?

Try putting a little oil or Armor All on it. If the plastic is truly discolored, it can be sanded and polished.

Paint or sand, if you get to much of that garbage on the stock in some cases it will weaken the integrity of the stock or if you let it sit on it with out cleaning it off immediately it will cause cracks, I spilled a bottle of solvent on one of my ar stocks and just wiped it off ith a rag it dried out the surface of the plastic and broke when I went shooting the next week.

Oil it up. The spot will vanish. Happens to my AR all the time.

For future reference, Shooter's Choice makes a polymer safe cleaner/degreaser that is safe to use on the synthetics. I use it on any of my firearms that have any synthetic. Works very well.
