Guns with a Safety Stop on the Hammer?

Hello. If you're speaking of the "half-cock," all of the exposed-hammer single-actions and DA/SA autos I'm aware of have it. If this is indeed what you're asking about, it's interesting to note that the very first CZ75s did NOT have a half-cock....but that was quickly changed.

Best.

Not so much the half-cock. I was looking at a CZ-75 D PCR Compact at a gun shop recently, and as soon as you begin to thumb the hammer back the safety stop engages and prevents the hammer from coming back to a full down position. Now on the HK USP's, you don't have a safety stop on the hammer. If you take a USP and thumb the hammer back and then let go before it locks, it will go to the full hammer down position.

He could also be talking about a rebounding hammer, my old sig 230, and model 94 lever action have rebounding hammers, after the hammer falls it goes back to the safety intercept notch.

The notch will also catch the hammer if your thumb slips when cocking the gun.

Do other SIG pistols have the rebounding hammer?

CZ's hammer stops are different.

The PCR has a different hammer stop/safety than the conventional d/a guns. It has a decocker and the "half-cock" is its normal resting place, due to this, its half-cock notch on the hammer and sear are much stronger and larger than on the traditional CZ d/a - s/a guns. Its similar to a CZ 83. The hammer stop/safety/notch on my Compact is minute/minimul compared to the one on the PCR...Alot of folks who use the half-cock on the CZ non decocking guns as the normal resting place for there hammer/sear could have a nasty surprise coming when it starts to wear....it wont stop the hammer anymore. Its designed as a safety and should only be used as one......ramble off. :D
Shoot well
