Guns suck, Cops suck!

I'm so sick and tired of hearing Demo's saying that. I hereby propose the ultimate solution, and I'll bet you no Democrap would take me up on it.

Police brutality? Guns cause crime? OK, here's how it goes.

We take a head count, we collect tax money, we support the police. BUT, those who feel that cops suck, and that guns are the cause of violence, no problem. All they have to do is on their front lawn/door, put a sign that reads "There are no guns in this house, this house does not believe in guns, nor cops." By doing this, at the end of the year, a matching percentage of the budget to those who appose guns and cops, will be refunded. Everybody who has that sign on their door will get a refund for the portion of their tax that went to cops.

OF COURSE, that also means that if they call for help and would like a cop to arrive on the scene, then they would have to pay DOUBLE the what would have been the refund amount at the end of the year, for every incident. Or if they don't, then the next time they call, a cop will then not be obligated to show up.

What do you think? If they don't feel they need/want the services of a cop, or guns, then they are more than welcome to not pay for it. Of course they will not gain the banner of protection under it, but that's their proragative..

Does that sound good? I figure we all know that if this was implemented, all the home invasions are going to be those houses because a sign like that basically says, rob me, I'm unarmed and no cops will come to save me. But that __IS__ what they want right???

When I went on vacation, I stuck my last practice target paper with the outline of a man (and my 30 shots in each eye, and another 10 shots in the spleen in 1" clusters from my rifle) on my front door before I went on vacation. Guess what? Nobody robbed me (for some strange reason) My friend went on vacation, a liberal democrat. But before he did, he asked for one of my paper targets to put on his front door. "One with a lot of shots to the head and heart if you have one" he said. I laughed, "I thought you don't believe in guns" I replied. "I don't, but this is not a gun, this is a paper target..." Yeah, right... He's been robbed before when he went on vacation, for some reason, a piece of paper with 50 holes in it... oh... the size of .45's, seems to disway robbers...

From the subject, you thought this was going to be a gun/cop bashing thread huh? :-)

Ok I will bite. First, of all libs don't care if the cops have guns, in fact they think the government can do no wrong. I ask these same libs the question if they feel safe in a government building, and they say yes. I then ask them if they wouldn't mind if the spent some time in a prison, after all, the government knows how to run things.

As for your neighbor, it sounds like a good idea. I would have told him to go to the range with you and make one himself. Offer to pay for it. One thing I really enjoy is taking anti's to the range with me, its surprising how much fun people have. Now if I can get my wife to go to me, that would be nice.

Hoosier,

I couldn't get my gf to go either. The first time I took her, a bullet fell down the blouse and she got a burned boobie, and so she didn't want to go again.

But the second time, her sister came to visit, and I took them both, and when she was doing 1" clusters, she started screaming with excitement.

Get a Browning Buckmark, or a 22/45 Ruger in their hands. A .22 is very easy to shoot, no recoil at all. Move that target REALLY close, and have them start shooting. Your wife will come around when she's putting a bullet through the same hole.

When we got married my wife was a liberal dem. 25 years later she has a carry permit, can't stand Clinton or Gore, and last month let ME know a gun show was coming up and she wanted to get a "pager" holster for HER .380.

We think we will be moving from Virginia to Texas and she wanted to know about the Texas carry laws. Posted the question here last month and got lots of feedback. Thanks!

We have close friends who are cops and guns are useful tools.

Its a myth that the police don't carry guns in the UK. Your first site on arrival at Heathrow is likely to be an armed police officer. Armed police have patrolled airports for years.

Although the police are not in generally overtly armed, a significant number of police cars are Armed Response Vehicles (ARV). I live in a small rural village that is routinely patroled by an ARV.

Out of sight, out of mind perhaps but they're rountinely armed nevertheless.

Lone Ranger, thanks for the info. I knew that a good portion of the cops in Great Britain were armed, but I wasn't sure if it was a majority or not.

Now, if we could only convince our fuzzy-thinkers of that fact, so they'll quit repeating the "Cops don't carry guns in England." bit of hoo-hah.

This site shows the "effectiveness" of not having an armed society like England...

Gee, is that what we have to look forward to? Quick quick mommy, sign me up!

A place where you are unarmed and must obey what the dictator in control of you says... I think I know the name of that place, prison right???

People fail to realize with a great lack of history about the constitution or our once free republic being taught in government schools
that our country was not designed for people to be protected by others or pay others to do so but for them to protect themselves.
Not to mention that the purpose of the furhter police and their slang motto 'to protect and serve' is not to protect us but to enslave us.
If your not self-reliant your reliant on others.
It was not uncommon for slave owners to be protective of their productive property.
Gun-safety--- lock it up put it away, dont have it out YOUR a danger to your own children no you shouldnt think of protecting them well do that.
A large number of police do care about our gunright and many outwardly show that by joining the Law enforcement alliacne of america www.leaa.org
and many are anti gun and dont think we should own them thus you have the
Fraternal order of police.Who formally endorce Al Gun control Gore.
Im sure your aware twoblink that police have neither the authority nor the the duty to protect any person.Think its odd coming from me wait till you actually hear a cop say it to your face.

Yeah, and when they see a crime being committed, the cop on the beat yells: "Stop! Or I'll ... um ... yell stop again!"

Ruger45, stop preaching personal responsibility, that's what you are doing.

Preaching personal responsibility generally results in a demand for less government, so stop it, just stop it. If but for Teflon Willie and Cardboard Gore, who would protect us? What, the .38 Special on the nightstand?? Give me a break. We need government, big government, the bigger the better. They will protect us. I mean look at what's it's done for England and Auzzie.

I love big government, I think we should never lose to Canada in anything. They currently have 70% tax. We only are at 49%. That's why I support Al Gore, if you heard his speech, if he actually accomplishes half of what he had promised in that speech, our taxes would be at, at least 90%, and that would beat Canada's.

Excuse me all while I go rinse my mouth...

I actually had someone come up and said that 75% tax was acceptable to him if he got free healthcare. At 75% tax, is there ANYTHING that's free?

As for the criticisms of how the cops handled the DNC, well, if they did nothing, the demo's would say that the cops are worthless. If they did anything, "Police brutality!!"

Irony shows itself in bright red facepaint when I see the democrats walking around the Staples Center asking the cops to "protect them" because they are armed, they want to unarm them..

To reiterate, yes, many coppers in London, at least, carry guns. The last time my wife and I were there, I'd point to the various constables out on the street and note the "bulge" under their coats, and say to my wife, "There's a gun, there's another, etc."

I know what to look for, and I definitely know the difference as to how a set of handcuffs, a radio, a baton, or black jack, a canister of OC, a flashlight, etc. print.
I also know how a gun butt prints, and those coppers were packin' heat.

Oh, and the MP5s at Heathrow airport. Lots of them.
