Guns of the movie "Shot through the heart"?

I'm curious which gun the "bad guy" is using. The protagonist appears to be using a .308 bolt action, a savage? I'm more curious what the "bad guy" is using. It appears a lot like a Dragunov. Anybody have enough familiarity to tell?

No, I'm not going to run out and buy one, I'm just curious what it was...

I was disappointed with the movie because it deviated significantly from what the "good guy" told in an interview on Dateline NBC. In the interview, he described how he discovered that the sniper was his friend by recognizing the muzzle blast - he believed that they were the only guys in the country with Mausers. The description of how he killed the "bad guy" was also quite different, if I recall the interview correctly.

The movie was quite good i thought.. and I've heard the dennis quaid movie was very disturbing.

I've read some interesting facts about sniper ally from a varity of viewpoints, and all were very chilling.

PS the "snipers" around sarajevo were often serbs firing at long range targets like cars and trollys with automatic fireand or mortars. The "real" snipers often fired through holes in walls no larger than 4 inches in diameter with HUGE fields of fire. Most photos I've seen of snipers Bosnian or serbian were carrying czech 8mm mausers with scopes.

My favorite part of that movie is when the Muslim soldier is giving the new recruits instructions in gun safety and handling. When he finishes with the demonstration, he hands the Nagant (I think) to a nearby recruit, and turns to address the group at about the time the recruit shoots the instructor through the foot! A perfect demonstration of what not to do.

The Dennis Quaid movie was called "The Savior"....great movie....if you haven't seen it......do.
