One of the best things in the move I think was I don't remember one dramatic slide rack before firing. They just started blasting away. Couldn't hit nothing no matter how many thousands of rounds they fired, but at least they started with one in the pipe.

Well, maybe the pink cow is good for something; I am not sure about the .460

...because it will blow your head CLEAN OFF....so you gotta ask yourself one question...

the other guy...

Why are you carrying a 460 XVR?

or

Did the 44 mag stop doing the job too?

or

Don't you realize that a 38 special will kill me too?

better yet

I guess you don't want me to feel anything?

Do you think it will initimidate your enemy even if you miss?

Do you think you're as cool as Dirty Harry? (cause you're not)

Do I really look that much like a polar bear or a cape buffalo?

Are you just shooting 45 colt in it because you're afraid to go bigger?

John M, IMDb.com; Jennifer Eight....

JM is one of the greatest American actors working today, ;). See his stats & bio here; www.IMDb.com .

John M has a great supporting role in the 1990s cop drama; Jennifer 8. He plays a slick FBI agent who grills small town cop Andy Garcia about the use of a Glaser Safety Slug in a BUG/.380acp Walther PPK.
His smooth style & attention to detail is as impressive as the amount of effort he uses to explain how a .380acp Glaser Safety Slug was used.

Netflix or order Jennifer 8. It's worth watching for JM's acting.

speaking of guns in the movies

In a very old James Cagney movie, where he plays a gangster, he has someone in custody in the trunk of a car and he asks the person, "You need some air in there?" or something to that effect, then he blazes away at the trunk with a .45.

Of all the gun-firing scenes I've seen in the movies, that one stands out as looking so incredibly real.

Does anyone know if, in fact Mr. Cagney DID fire live rounds into the trunk?

I know this deviates from the original, but the original reminded me of my long-held curiosity.

Public Enemies

I can't seem to get enough of Public Enemies with Johnny Depp as John Dillinger and Christian Bale as Melvin Pervis. The Thompson sub machine gun scenes at night are great. The muzzle flash is awesome.
There is some 45 auto action, and it looks like Dillinger was packing a Colt 380 auto in his pocket when shot. I believe that he was shot with a 45 1911.
Though not mentioned in the movie I have read that Purvis shot himself with the gun he hunted Dillinger with in 1950. How ironic!

ok... we went & watched RED this weekend... agree it was a pretty awesome movie... wasn't sure if it was a 460 or 500, but definately an X frame S&W... & yes, the "pig" is significant...

but in the previews before RED, was the preview for the new Nicholas Cage movie "driving angry" ??? & a shot of a real "man's" gun... probably fictional, but looked like a revolving barrel shotgun ( looked like a gattling gun at the muzzle ) anyone seen the previews, & know the gun I'm talking about ???

Bill; I have seen it , but had forgotten. Thanks for the link. Great stuff.
I'll rent that again soon, or maybe buy it. Thanks again.
