Guns and child pornography ... alike?

The Australian Federal Justice Minister, Amanda Vanstone, announced yesterday amendments to the "Prohibited Imports and Export Regulations".

Under these amendments, someone caught trying to smuggle or illegally import a firearm into Australia will be classified the same as someone "importing child pornography"!

The penalty? $250 000 fine and up to 10 years in jail.

That puts it above the penalty for importing drugs into the country. Vanstone also described weapons "including firearms" as "dangerous and offensive".

If anyone's ever seen a photo of Miz. Vanstone, she's the one that's "dangerous and offensive". ;)
Wonder if we could prohibit her from General Exhibition !

Are you saying that she's as astetically pleasing as our Janet Reno? Horrid to beleive that there are two of them:O

Funny how the government came up with ATF two are vices and the other a right. Sound like all these commie politicos think the same. May one day they all get exactly what they deserve ten fold.

Don't want to be a member of a species that's deceasing.

Such is life.
