Coach Rex Powers gave me this recent update on the donations to the Wickenburg Highschool High Power Rifle Team.
My most cogent statement concerning these mostly final results is "it's frickin' unbelievable !!!" When this all began (with an e-mail request for money from assistant coach C.D. Tavares), I figured that a total of $1,500 in donations would be a good showing.
I don't know if this includes Dr. Varda's donation of four National Match barrels from Rock River Arms or not, but...well, I'm sure the Wickenburg High Power Rifle Team will never be the same (ie, subsisting on bake sales and car washes).

It's not too late to donate. If you want to do a fully reimburseable (Arizona School tax credit) donation to the team, you can contact Coach Rex Powers at rpowers@wickenburg.k12.az.us
Last year Wickenburg sent quite a few riflemen (and women) to join the Arizona Jr HP Rifle team in Camp Perry, Ohio where they took 2nd place. Dare I say that weekends spent sending rounds down range rather than washing cars might mean a good chance at a first place finish?
Thanks to all who donated and all who spread the word. Donations came not just from Arizona, but all across the United States of America -- and internationally as well.
