I've decided to fix and paint an old H&R 929 .22LR revolver. My plan is to parkerize the frame and parts, then paint over the parkerizing with Gunkote. I know it's recommended to blast parts to be parkerized with aluminum oxide for an even finish, but since I'm painting over the parkerizing anyway is blasting even necessary?
I also plan on painting several knives I've made, 2 10/22 recievers (which I know can't be parked), a 10/22 barrel, 2 10/22 trigger assemblies, and another pistol I'm hopefully buying. Will 8 oz of Gunkote be enough for that much painting? I'm getting 2 4oz cans of different colors.
