GunAuction vs GunBroker

I've bought through both (although back then gunauction was called auctionarms). I find FAR more availability on Gunbroker but when I am looking for something specific I search both sites.

I've bought 10-15 guns on gunbroker and have always been happy. I don't have any experience with gunauction.com though.

More to pick from on Gunbroker and I have bought more there, but I just bought a new SP101 on GunAuction last week. Like others say, look on both and take the best deal.

Thanks, guys! The NRA affiliation of gunauctions got me wondering. I've bought both my newest revolvers, a Colt MKIII Trooper and a S&W 66-2 off of gunbroker and have been happy with them.

About six weeks ago, on gunauction.com, I found an auction for an MP5 Flemming sear gun for sale for $17,000. Maybe this seller was brain dead, the listing was a scam, or possibly this gun was a fundraising effort by Mayor Bloomberg for Everytown.

I called the seller, and it sounded real sketch, with the caller saying the owner wasn't here, but he keeps it around here somewhere and if I wanted to buy it. LOL.

That was my only experience on gunauction.

IMHO GA.com is more buyer oriented:
To sell on GA.com, a seller must offer an examination period and an opportunity for the buyer to send the item back if not satisfied.

GB is more seller oriented as you can sell items "as is" no return.

On the other hand, GB has much more items than GA.com. GB was well established before GA.com came around.

IMHO, as a buyer, GA.com is the better choice, but both sites are OK. One of the biggest frustrations I have had with GB is sellers listing items they do not have in stock. GB is well known for protecting buyers from fraud.

I didn't know about gunsamerica.com so I just took a look. The first thing I noticed is that their search function is absolutely useless. I typed in the word Encore and got no hits. However, when I browsed through their menu to find T/C guns there are several Encores.

I've used both on numerous occasions, and never encountered any problems. Availability can vary, sometimes significantly... a few months back (during The Panic of '13 (tm) ) I was looking for a KSG while I could still legally buy one (I'm in Maryland). Gunbroker had dozens of them, but pricey - $1200-$1400. Gunauction only had one... starting at $800. I got it at $1000. I was happy, 'cause I couldn't buy one here legally now.

I've made purchases through both Gunbroker and Gunauction w/o a glitch from either website. As others have mentioned, in general Gunbroker has a better selection, but I've gotten better prices at Gunauction. If you're not in a hurry and willing to do a daily search, there are some bargains to be found.
