Gun, watch, wallet, knife, etc... Part II

For those who didn't check in, here's your opportunity. For those you did, it's time to fess up... how much do you actually use the things you carry?

Gun - Don't carry (at least I can't legally), so it sits in my car. I've only had to display it once in my life when loitering punks surrounded my car at a red light....

Watch - Timex. What can I say, I'm a slave to mechanical time. Without my watch, I'm naked!

Knives - Two CRKT (if you haven't figured it out from my airgun thread, I'm a frugal kinda guy) knives... large Crawford Kasper Fighting Folder and a small Point Guard. Usage? To be honest, not a whole lot. The KFF ends up being a conversation piece while the Point Guard opens letters and cuts stray strings.

Keys - Car & house. 'nuff said.

Glasses - Well, I've gotta see, right?

Gun- Wilson CQB or Les Baer Concept III

Knife- nada, If I were to carry one of my knives, it'd be one of the Emersons

Watch- Either a Bulova Millenia or Movado Olympian Chronograph

Keys- Jeep, House, Office

Glasses- nah, contact lenses instead

If I don't use it regularly, it gets stashed in the truck.

On my person: keys, Timex watch, Buck folder, wallet, checkbook, comb, truck alarm pager (I hope I never need it).

In the truck: Ruger SP101 & 2 speedloaders (well hidden yet readily acessable, no one has been able to find yet them until I then where to look), Leatherman, 4D Mag Lite, lighter, sunglasses, compass, GPS, gloves, kick ass stereo, Clifford silent alarm. You would be amazed at how much stuff you can hide in a standard cab S-10 :D

Spare batteries, extra box of .357, machete, first aid kit, blanket, toolbox, jumper cables, and extra vehicle fluids are locked in the Tuffbox that's bolted down in the bed.

G26 in a Blade-Tech UCH- never but would hate to need it and (you know the rest)

one spare mag (never but Glocks make marginal impact weapons)

above attached to a Wilderness 5-stitch belt (holds my pants up well and kinda of a marginal kidney belt but great for holding holster down)

Benchmade Axis-Lock (Minimal) & Spyderco Delica (alot)

Sure-Fire 6Z (alot)

Beeper (also used as a watch- yawn!)

keys and wallet (alot)

How much do I USE the crap I lug around? Well...

1. Gun: never had to, thank God.
2. Knife (AFCK): never...see thanks in #1
3. Knife (Buck folder): pretty often
4. watch: uhm...many times per day
5. glasses: same deal
6. wallet: ditto
7. keys: ditto again (plus, they have a beer bottle opener. Once a Boy Scout, always a Boy Scout)
8. Cuffs: ahem. No comment. :D
9. Badge: you can use it as a mirror to pick your teeth.
10. cell phone: I admit it- I have been drug kicking and screaming into the wireless age.
11. beeper: helps the Wife-in-Chief keep tabs on me.
12. Collapsible baton: never used
13. OC spray: once almost sprayed a vicious-looking miniature poodle in attack-mode...more for the giggle factor than any feeling of danger.
14. Hmmm...what was my 14th item? Huuh. Guess that tells you how much I use it. :P

Mike

PS Oh! Ammo for the gun. Never used anywhere but the range.
