How long do fiber optic gun sights last? are all gun sights fiber optic or some other materials. I heard that they fade over time, would like to get the best one's for my Sig P220.
I'm thinking that you might not mean fiber-optic ... but if you do, fiber optic sights won't fade ... as long as you don't leave them out in the full sun for months on end (UV kills plastic of just about all flavors). Maybe you are thinking about tritium night sights, they last ~10 years before you can notice them getting dimmer ... then if you need them to be brighter, you have to replace them.
I'm not a huge fan of fiber optic units on duty/carry guns.
For serious use I'd get some Trijicon HD sights or some steel night sights.
The XS line is good too.
Fiber optics may crack or break in a real critical incident.
Trijicon is in use with many military & LE agencies worldwide.
