Gun show

I am going to the first gun show that I have been to since I was like 8 and had a couple questions. I am looking at picking up a .22 pistol, I know that from a dealer I need a Permit to Purchase but from a private party I do not, will I need one to buy at a gun show? This guy I know said that you need one to buy at a gun show weather it is a dealer or a private seller. I am 21 years old but am afraid it would be to late to get a permit to purchase by saturday.

Jerky?!?:D Im not sure how big the show is so the parking lot may be pretty empty, plus it is like 20 degrees outside but I will keep it in mind. Any idea on me having to have a Permit to Purchase to buy from a non-dealer at a gun show?

You do not need a purchase permit in Minnesota to buy from a non FFl individual.
You also , generally wont find many non FFL's selling at most Minnesota shows.
Go to the local PD and apply for your purchase permit.
It takes 10 minutes to fill out the form and is free.
It will generally take 10 days to get the permit but sometimes faster.
When I lived inRosemount I got mine in the mail On wednesday after appling on monday.

Thats disapointing:( . So if I apply for my Permit to Purchase, and dont get it before this weekend or dont end up buying a pistol. How long is it valid for?

Rallyhound- know of any semi-auto .22lr pistols for sale?

its valid for one year.
I have a ruger 22-45 and love it.
I really cant think of a good reason to buy anything else. All the others seem like lesser guns to me. The ruger is a big, heavy steel gun that shows no wear after at least 100,000 rounds. Every weekend up north for the last 6-7 years that gun has been shot non stop by somebody. i dought it even has been cleaned more than every 3000 rounds and still works perfect.

Im going to go and file tonight see if I cant get it before this weekend, Im not holding my breath though. I am really looking for a browning buckmark or a beretta neos, or maybe a walther p22 if I find a good deal. Do you know anything about the gun show this weekend at the Anoka Armory? It is by the same people that put on one last weekend at St. Paul Armory. Im wondering how big it is going to be.

hunting type rifles--no
ak-ar military types yes.
the show in 3 weeks at the convention center is the better one to go to if you dont mind paying ten bucks to park.

Yeah I definatly plan on going to that one, but I figured I would check out the one in Anoka too since it is not that far from me and like 5 bucks to get in. I never got to file for my permit to purchase yesterday (the cop shop desk closes at 4:30) what great hours they have!!! I will have to find some time to get that filled out in the next week or so. After looking at pricing an AK seems like a good (cheap) addition to my collection:D . Do you need a permit to purchase and AK/AR because the recievers can be made into "pistols"?

I think that Minneaota law says that you need a state permit for handguns and military type semi auto rifles.
Seems to me that when i bought my AK i needed to show my permit.
