gun show today

I went to a local gun show this morning and all I could sy was WOW. Atleast double the people from this show a year ago. Full parking lot and cars on both sides of the street for about 1/4 mile each way. Inside it was packed to the point you could hardly move around.AR's $1500.00 or so for the cheaper brands and I seen a Colt go for 2900.00. Brown Bear 223's 500 rounds for 399.00, 20 round boxes of American Eagle going for 17.00 per box and not many of them. People were buying everything pertaining to AR's accessories were going fast. No reloading supplies, no powder, no primers and no bullets for 223. It was unbelievable.

Think I'll be staying away from gun shows for a bit, at least until things cool off and prices drop back to normal. Besides the only thing I'm in the market for this year is a CMP Garand. I do need reloading components but I can order at normal prices online (although I hate to pay the hazmat fee) and just wait for the backorders to be filled since no one around here has anything.

Tried to go to the Fort Lauderdale gun show this morning. I couldn't get in. Traffic was backed up for blocks and there was a long line outside. They stopped letting people in due to crowded conditions. I'm sure the folks that did get in couldn't even move.

I'm sure the prices are getting out of sight with all of the panic buying. Most of the gun shops I've been to are completely out of ARs and Glocks. About the only thing that is readily available are revolvers. I guess I'm going to have to wait this out.

I thought about going to the gun show during the Bronco's playoff game cause it would be less busy than usual. Then I remembered the last time I was there half the booths had TVs set up with that weekend's game on. Probably not going to make a difference.

Rebs, you didn't happen to be in north central Arkansas today did you? Sounds exactly the the gun show here today. I didn't even bother going in. The line outside was crazy!...

I too went to a gun show in Vandalia, Ohio. It was very crowded and busy. Parking was difficult and a muddy mess. When I arrived there was a very long winding line in the front lobby, took me almost 25 minutes to reach the ticket table before going in.

Prices ranged from reasonable to ridiculous. Most AKs were in the $800 to $1300 range, ARs from $1000 to $2000, depending on configuration. I specifically went to find a 75-round drum, but they were selling for over $250, some as high as $300. I passed on them. Instead I bought two very nice 30-round AK mags for $30 a piece, a very nice and complete Romanian AK bayonet, and a large box containing 1000 strike-anywhere matches. The "run" at today's show was definitely the magazines.

Next weekend is the even larger and more crowded Indy-1500 show at the Indianapolis fairgrounds. I have no doubt it will be insane, doubt I will go.

$10 a piece for tapco mags is what I paid, glad I bought mine before people lost their minds. Also lucked out and found a guy a couple years back that thought he was selling 75rd drums for a $100, turns out he was selling 100rd drums for $100.

Buy when it's calm and slow, then you can sit back and laugh at all the stooges that get caught up in the frenzy and pay 3 and 4 times what things are worth.

They only have themselves to blame, no one is forcing them to buy. And if prices don't return to normal, we have them to thank/blame.

Thanks Famas....I will be going to the airport show today just to see the madness.

Appreciate the heads-up as to what to expect!

$10 Tapco mags was indeed after the gun scare started. I just think that AKs aren't as common as ARs around here. Even before the panic I seem to recall seeing more ARs for sale than AKs.

I just went to a show this morning, a big crowd but prices for revolvers was down.
Saw the most impressive Ruger display ever.

Went to the same gun show in Ohio as Famas and noticed the abundance of pre-ban 30 round AR magazines available (cases of them). Price was $40 to $50 each. No 5.56 ammo but some .223. A box of 100 Federal .223 was $89.00 up from $39.00 just a month ago.

Went to the Vandalia show Sunday...crowds wasn't bad at all...almost normal except for faces I hadn't seen before. Stupid prices on ARs and Aks as expected...low on ammo of course. Ammos was way high considering LGS in Columbus was offering at $55/100.

Not needing either, I did find a replacement stock wrench and other little stuff I needed to restock on without issue.

This is all going to blow over soon...even the media has acknowledged that if guns were controllable before, the massive boost in sales due to Obama had now put so may more into circulation that there is no way to impact it now. Media says the focus should be on standard capacity mags.

I don't see how they could even push that through now that many libs and democrats are new AR owners.
