Gun Show in Norfolk, VA

I don't mean to start the sequence of comments about gun shows; good or bad?. Just some info:

Went to the Gun and Knife show here in Norfolk today. Event was yesterday and today.

Only black powder revolvers were some original Colts. ($4850.00 for an 1851, operable with matching numbers) I don't collect originals but that seems a little steep. Nothing special, just a nice specimen.

New club was holding a raffle for the winner's choice of an 1851, 1860, 1858 Remington, or a Remington with a five inch barrel, all from Pietta. I bought seven tickets and told the guy I would join the club if I win the pistol.

A vendor told me he saw some repros for sale at a different table earlier in the show but by the time I got there they had been sold. (He may have been talking about the originals I described two paragraphs ago.) Perhaps I should start showing up earlier.

Anyway....just some idle rambling.

Went to a gunshow in Branson, MO yesteday. Just about the same results.

One vendor had an ASM nickel & gold '58 Remington and a brass framed Traditions .44 '51 Navy with spare cyl. Both NIB, both $300.00

Another vendor had a '58 Remmie revolving carbine that may have been unfired; but had no box, for $500.

A couple original '51 Navies in the $1k - $2k range

A sweet engraved, gold inlayed '73 Winchester that I was afraid to ask the price on.

and a variety of muzzleloading rifles, both orifinals & repros.

The only bright spot was a Parkhurst 12 ga SxS that was fairly tight and had good damascas colors on the barrels for only $225. But, it wasnt as nice as my '89 Remington, so I left it for someone else.

All in all, a disappointing show from my standpoint
