Gun shop in San Antonio?

Can anyone suggest a good gun shop in San Antonio, preferably with a large HK selection, guns, accessories and collectables?

Two parts to the question:

1.Good Shop
2.HK specialist

1. The big good ol' boy shop is Nagels.
They are expensive and moderately
grouchy. They specialize in dudes
who can't clean their own guns after
hunting but talk the bigh talk.

They sell close to full price handguns
to testosteron full dudes who posture
about stopping power but are too dumb
to know street prices.

Their knives are really good but way
over street price.

They are knowledgeable if you know the
right guy and need something quick.

2. Don's on Perrin-Beitel and 410. Good stock
and friendly - full price.

3. Champions on DeZavala and I-10. New store
prices are reasonable but a tad more than
the gun show. Some help is cranky, some
are OK. I asked them about a trade as
a test and got the old - you got to
bring it in. My feeling is that for a
standard item you can give a hypothetical
with the caveat that you are not committed
to it. I know other places that do that.

There are other stores scattered about but
they kind of mom and pop. Texas Guns on
Bandera is a hunting rifle outfit.

As far as I know and I can be wrong, no one in town is a big HK specialist.

A better bet is the gun show. Austin also
has a couple of nice shops - Heritage and
Cooks.

One could ask on the tx.guns newsgroup as someone there could know HK better than me.

Pick up an occasional copy of The Shotgun News or The Gun List, and watch for gunshows at Oklahoma City, Dallas, and Houston. They are big shows with thousands of tables and "stuff" of all sorts.

Thanks for the replies. I'm only going to be in San Antonio for a day and a half. I was just checking to see if there were any shops worth checking out.

If you go up I-10 to Kerrville, Tx., you will find 2 great Gun Shops. ( dang nice shops)
1. Hill Country Firearms, 3 great gunsmiths, good selection of Mil surp, sporting and handguns.. See, Jeff,Mike, or Cassey ( all are gunsmiths)
2. Arrowhead Arms, no gunsmith but large selection of arms and ammo, nice people,
see Jerry.
