Gun Shop Clerk in KC Foils Robbery...

What kind of idiots try to rob a gun shop? In broad daylight and armed with an empty revolver, nonetheless!

My LGS rarely has fewer than 3 workers behind the counter, and they are always armed. I wouldn't doubt if a few of them actually hope someone would try to rob them... I have a feeling the BG's wouldn't have a chance to "run south" :)

50 dollars for a box of 357 who robbing who.
Yeah, I saw that and thought, "$1 a pop for a .357?"...another reason that I was glad that I reload.

That was 2 mistakes these doofuses made...trying to rob someone with an empty gun, and trying to buy a $50 box of ammo.

props to the guy for handling the situation well ...but IMHO i don't like how the story was written....it points out that the clerk saw the cylinder was empty and then was quoted as saying he was going to shoot him.

I think people who want to take our rights away and the uninformed may see the clerk as a "trigger happy gun nut" and that is unfortunate.

Again I don't fault the clerk (i actually applaud him) I just wish he would have kept a couple of those comments to himself.

If the revolver only had one cartridge it woud index with the barrel when the hammer was cocked. The gun would appear empty according to the cylinder bores. I would not assume the gun was empty.

Nor would I Ryder, but I sure wouldn't have told a reporter, "I saw that the revolver was empty" followed by "I was about to shoot him, and already was squeezing the trigger." Not the best two phrases to put together.;)

Who tries something like that ?

Over here all gun shops MUST have a security gate so everyone must be buzzed in and out. If someone tried that here he would have been trapped and been shot to pieces. The cops would have had to collect his remains with a mop.

This reminds me of a story some years back about a robber who went into a pawn shop with one bullet and slid it into a .44 revolver, and robbed the place with their own gun. I really thought this was going to be the same situation. At least no one was hurt.

If more criminals would rob gun shops.. they would endanger themselves instantly..
That said, I find this hilarious, all of the employees open carry(cocked and locked) It's one thing to rob a 7-11,BUT a GUN store?
self explanitory..

A few 2-3 months back a guy robbed a shooting range in LA, somehow he got out alive, but they did catch him after a televised chase.
