Gun Safe Fire Resistance-Bolting Down to Floor

Hi everyone,

I am in the process of purchasing a gun safe and would like to know about fire resistance and securing the safe. I have heard that many safes that have a fireliner for fire resistance cannot be bolted down to the floor. Is this true?

Not in my experience...

Every firelined gun safe I have looked at has had provisions for bolting it down.

If it is "fire-resistant"...

you cannot drill holes in it and have it still be fire-resistant.

If it was designed with holes to be filled with "x" sized bolts, it should be okay.
