Gun safe and humidity.

They make a dehumidifier that you plug in and put inside the safe. Some safes have a built in access hole made for that reason.Make sure you get a good safe alot of them are just over sized filling cabinets. Very thin walled.

Another possibility to the electric dehumidifiers is silica gel. Throw it in the oven every three weeks, bake at 245 degrees for three hours, and no humidity. Either one will work!

Most of the places around here that sell firearms also sell the silica or dry rods. I would try your local gun shop or sporting goods store.

Midway has both. I did the gel for a year but found that I was more lax than I thought I was so when I spotted the first dot of rust I sprung for the 'golde rod'. The same company now makes a 'black rod' for almost half the price. You plug it in and never have to give it another thought. Well worth the investment.

Silica Gel == That new Crystals Cat litter.

Find a couple old socks you don't care about, fillthem 3/4 full of the stuff, tie close and hang in safe or put on floor.

If you don't like the "scent" that they add to the littler, remove the blue crystals, as those are the scented ones.
