Gun Rights March

What if .....

All the NRA members and other gun rights supporters marched on Washington (unarmed that is). I mean really made a showing, something on the order of the civil rights marches. People believed 40+ years ago in a great society. Where are we now? We should demand the fundamental right to defend one's life and property by any means necessary gaurunteed to everyone, in every state, in every city (sorry New York, San Francisco, Chicago, and others I've left out).

It's easy to ignore isolated pockets of people in far away places. Many of us on here who enjoy freedoms feel sorry for those that live in places that don't allow you to keep a gun in your home without permission. What's the difference. Why isn't the 2nd Ammendment good all over the country? The reason is people aren't willing to fight for the enforcment on a national level.

A codifiying of the right to bear arms is a national necessity. One law for one nation for all people.

Several reasons...

(generally)

1. We have jobs, and we are not independently wealthy and cannot go to WDC.

2. We are real people who have other activities that encumber us.

3. We have families, who demand the most of the time that we devote not to paying taxes and the mortgage.

4. We have wives that are sensible enought to refuse to go to WDC unarmed.

5. And lastly, I am too damn lazy to get away from this computer to use the bathroom, let alone go to a march. (Where's my pee pail? )

I put the unarmed part in because I know how tough the DC gun laws are. Also if 1M people marched on DC armed it might be considered a goverment overthrow & treason. I belive in working within the system we have, not scrapping it. I know there are enough people that share my views. I just need to get them all together in one place.

I'll be working in D.C. in Mid August

You guys stop by... I'll wave to you from the roof of that big house... it's fun work if you disregard the two guys with various REAL guns behind you.

sending a message

VOTE!

Ok, the problem with that is it is anonymous.

How about everbody buy a brick of .22s on the same day.
" " " email the white house......
call your congressman......
Or,call the media, everyone of us. All together, on the same day. Jam their phone lines up their ...ears. just to make a point.

There is probably some law aginst this, somewhere. After all, if we could REALLY change things by voting, they wouldn't let us vote. Of course, how do we even know that ....wait, paranoia kicking in.....time to go sniff some Hoppes...or is that stop sniffing the Hoppes...?

How about everyone mail $25 to the NRA.

The NRA is the ONLY organization that truely has the power to make any real difference. Everyone should be sending $10 or $20 to the NRA on a regular basis. But to make a point, everyone should mail $25 on the same day, to the NRA three months prior to the next major elections so they can do some last minute fighting for our rights.

I am a little skeptical of the NRA. They are more re-active than pro-active. Plus as the biggest gun rights group in America they have a big bullseye on them at all times. I think that grassroots support of the 2nd helps more than the NRA.

I make more sense when I drink.

Me too!

We have wives that are sensible enough to refuse to go to WDC unarmed.
March on Arlington, Virginia and publically refuse to enter Washington DC...

Spend your money in Virgina motels and restuarants and publically refuse to spend your money in Washington DC... and loudly protest the crime rates therein...

A million man march at the border of Washington DC sending bitter gestures to the White House and the Congress, would get the public attention and probably win a few friends over from the ignorant masses...

Then a final rally on the last day from the Lincoln Memorial with a great and rousing speach...

I have a dream that the day will come when the liberals will stop interfering with my right to the promises of the Second Ammendment...

I have a dream that all men will become honest and recognize those who have a "Right to carry" permit to be good people, and judge them for the content of their character rather than the content of their pockets...

I have a dream today! :D :D :D :p

Boozin' again tonight!

The NRA is the ONLY organization that truely has the power to make any real difference. Everyone should be sending $10 or $20 to the NRA on a regular basis.

Could a "regular basis" be constituted as every 15 minutes?

Of course, if every 15 minutes is good; then every 13 minutes is better.

I have the power to make a difference.

This Should Calm You Down

Everytime you hear someone in the drive-by media refer to the "powerful gun lobby" that IS your demonstration of unity by thousands of folks who think just like you do.

The "powerful gun lobby" is just another name for an organization that is backed by THOUSANDS of people who passionately believe in a specific principle. It's not an organization that can be ignored by any politician that wants to be re-elected. The NRA speaks with YOUR voice and it keeps you advised of what your politicians are doing regarding these matters.

We don't have to march because every politician knows that if he/she makes the wrong move he/she can expect ENORMOUS reprocussions from a large segment of their constituents generally speaking. It's not nonsense and it's not window dressing...it's the REAL DEAL..voters in numbers at the polls.

So you want to make your voice heard? It's simple.

1. Become a member of the NRA

2. Read the info they give you, respond with letters when they bring up an issue you need to be aware of, and VOTE appropriately.

We as gun owners are EXTREMELY lucky to have an organization speaking for us like this.

Amazing isn't it that most interest groups can demonstrate for their political positions and/or civil rights.

Gun owners prefer to post on the Internet how they will live in the woods with guns buried in PVC or fight an Alamo like last ditch suicidial stand against the ATF or the UN.

In reality, political action at the local level as generated 40 shall issue states and on the national level, the NRA - while flawed, is pretty effective and worthy of support.

doesent matter they will deploy the riot police wearther we are armed or not, they dont care they just want to shut us up. 1 mill. armed citizens what do you think will happen? its time we finally put an end to this tyranny.
molon lebe!

Well this sounds great, except I would have to go to D.C. and I really dont want to do that. But 1M armed people in WDC, sounds like berlin back in '45. We could do it.....once.

I think I'd feel reasonably safe with 999,999 guys to back me up.

So, this would be a good idea because marches on Washington are so effective? I can't even remember what the Million Man March was about, let alone try to identify what it did.

Ever heard of the Bonus Army? Look up July 28th, 1932.

They will kill a collection of pro-2a people of that size. 1 million? 1 million, activist voters? That will tip the 49.9/50.1 elections we've been having recently by a good margin in the left's favor.

I have a dream that all men will become honest and recognize those who have a "Right to carry" permit to be good people, and judge them for the content of their character rather than the content of their pockets...

How about, no permits?

Concealed carry. Not permit required. From sea to shining sea.

Dream that. :)
