I would like to have a matte black paint? I would like something that could be used on both wood and steel and that's in a spray can! Does someone have a suggestion for that? I also need a silver paint for steel. I have seen Aluma-Hyde II and many suggest it. Does it have matte black and silver both?

Duracoat is available in a bunch of colors and they have a cheap kit that comes with an airbrush and aerosol propellant kit. Pretty good stuff. Ceracoat is better but costs more and is a little more finicky to apply.
These are all I have experience with.

just my 2 cents, but good old fashioned rattle can engine paint works just fine for me. 1. its cheap. 2. its durable. its made to handle heat, chemicals, road grit, etc. I spray it on and then bake it (1 hr @ 350, but recipes vary). Obviously you wouldn't bake the stock, but it does help harden the paint. left to cure for a day or 2 would have the same effect, i'm just impatient that way.
