Gun Purchase

Last Sunday I decided I needed an inexpensive BB gun to deter some back yard pests so I trucked over to my nearest Tractor Supply to pick up a re-pop Red Ryder. I was kind of surprised when I had to provide(show)D/L number and DOB! For a BB gun, imagine that!
What if I'd been a youngster w/o D/L, would I have been refused a purchase? Guess I should have asked eh.

Needless to say the Red Ryder cocking lever was to small for my fat fingers and the stock about 3 inches of pull short so it went back for a refund.

I recently bought a Stoeger I think how its spelled .22 cal. Factory scope and silencer and was only asked cash or charge at LGS. $169
RWS is a little better IMO. $229
Both are single break barrel cock and in the 1100fps range. Two stage triggers and accurate with good pellets.

In a fit of liberalism a number of years ago, the city where I lived tried to ban the sale of firearms. The state legislature banned them from doing this. However, we are left with the curious state of affairs where I can purchase firearms which use gunpowder but I can't buy a BB gun or pellet gun inside the city.
