Gun Prices?

Is it just me or are some hand gun prices lower than they have been? Seems are prices are lower on Gun Broker recently. It may be a reflection of the economy or unemployment numbers.

The local gun shops around here who have been ripping people off for years now has a new competitor - the local Fred Meyers is now selling handguns and rifles at a lower price. Maybe not as good a selection as the shops, but they do have a huge catalogue from which to special order.

I don't know Duke, I don't see it.

Every time I look for a gun on gunbroker, they're asking about $50 more than they're worth. I have much better luck locally.

I have noticed that the gun prices in my area are $50+ higher than gunbroker or budsgunshop and if you factor in the tax it could be $100 higher. I dont see all the great deals that most people say they find in the local shops and pawn shops.

The great Gun/Ammo Panic of November 2008 is subsiding.
+1; I've been predicting since 2009 that the market for modern hi-cap automatic pistols is going to become saturated, and IMHO we're seeing it happen.

My observation is that the market for collectible revolvers, high-end 1911s, and suchlike is still healthy, and reasonably priced .22s are selling well. OTOH run-of-the-mill sub-$700 hi-cap pistols seem to be piling up at the retailers in my area. My hunch is that everyone who intended to buy one in 2009-2010 already bought one, and the Chicken Littles who bought 4-5 of them because "The Ban Is Coming!" are realizing that their truck needs a new set of tires more than they need examples of Handgun X in 9mm, .40S&W, and .357Sig.
