I notice Bud's gun prices are up, LC9 was $350, last month it was $330. I was at a show they had one $330 and one with lazermax? $370 NEW

I saw the S&W 642(no ILock)now is $380ish when it was only $335 two months ago!!!!!

I saw them at the gun show $350 and regular lock models for $340 local gun shop.

I haven't noticed gun prices ever dropping much. That would take slow sales, and I don't see it happening any time soon.

Of course gun prices are not going to drop but I have noticed that they are rising at a faster rate lately. It seems every time I go in to my local gun shop, its packed no matter what time of day. So I guess its supply and demand.

I had 7 items in my wish list on MidwayUSA and in just a few days 5 of the 7 items went up in price.

Have you been to the grocery store lately. Everything is up. I just bought 35 bags of mulch at Lowes that cost $2.67 per bag last year, and the exact same brand, size, and amount is $3.47 this year. The more money the Fed prints means the lower the doller will go, and that means the higher prices in this country will go.

and the paychecks stay the same.

I was just hoping to same a little bit on my up coming gun buys but it doesn;t look like it now.

I was going order 2 guns from Buds and save about 80$ including transfer fees. Now Buds is the price + transfer fee that it would cost me locally.:(

Cost of gas, cost of metals going up. All reports I've seen is that demand is very strong. All this adds up to higher prices. :(

My impression is handgun sales have been very robust since Thanksgiving 2011. I see no reason not to raise prices a little on certain firearms especially if you have trouble keeping them in stock or getting them from a distributor when you want them.

November is looming...a lot of people who aren't the regular "gun nuts" who normally buy are buying, so demand is high.

My local FFL told me that he is having a hard time just finding guns to sell at any price. The distributors are out of stock and when they do get stuff in it is earmarked for bigger stores.

I was at my local store last week and a guy walked in asking for bulk .22LR ammo. The owner started to show him some 500 round packs and he said "No, I am looking for more than that". The owner said he had a couple of 5000 round cases. The guy bought them both on the spot without asking the price and lugged 10,000 rounds of .22 out to his car.

It's only going to get worse as November gets closer.

My guess in the case of Bud's, the increase in price is due to shipping. All shipping prices went up in January and now we have rising fuel costs... I look to see another price increase from FedEx and UPS if prices don't start coming down some.

I don't hear people saying they are buying guns because of some regulatory fear after November 2012.

I notice my walmart is all most out of 12/20g 100round value packs(theres only like 10 boxes left). I mean last year the self was STOCKED TO THE MAX with these, there was about 70+ cases of this stuff, giant 6 selfs stocked with them. $23.99 and now, NOTHING!.....

My Bro-in-law does not own a single gun. He called me last week to get my opinion on a shotgun, rifle and pistol that he is considering buying this year. So, either he suddenly got the "shootin' bug" or he must have some other motivation for going from 0 to 3 guns.

I like to hang out at my local gun store just to chat with the owner, he is a cool guy. I see a steady stream of "noobs" (for lack of a better term) coming in and buying guns. Ammo is also flying out the door. He tells me he can't keep guns in stock and can't get them from the distributor. All this has nothing to do with shipping costs or all the tea in China.

The simple answer is to simply stop buying guns. If I'm not buying any, the prices don't really matter all that much.

For once, I'm glad to be as old as I am (I'm 46). I grew up in a time and place where guns were fairly easy to obtain, and I've bought, sold, and swapped guns 'till I pretty much have what I need and want for my uses. I've truly refined my choices in firearms to cover my shooting needs, so I lack very little in that way.

Oh, sure, there are always others out there to tempt me, but the prices these days make me really evaluate what I'm buying before I buy it. Do I really want it? Need it? Or is it just something that looks interesting that I might want to try? I go home, think about it for a few days or a few months, and then finally make up my mind.

And it's amazing how often I convince myself I didn't really want it all that much, anyway, for any number of reasons.

Yes they are, with (coming) everything else

Local GS's seem to be up 2-5% in the last several months in TX, some speciality a little higher.

The inflationary push of 5-15% per year, especially guns, will come once Europe gets their act together and are no longer forcing international rates down. Give them 2 months to 2 years.

If you remember Gerald and Jimmy and Phase 1, 2 & 3 price controls, you should be prepared. If we do 4 more years, the scare factor will probably drive up gun prices even higher.

I agree with several others, and petroleum prices are/will play a major roll in price increases.

I watched the price of the Remington R1 go up after I bought mine in December. Numerous fellow Forum members are wanting the Ruger SR1911 with good reasons (sweet looking 1911) and have been waiting for a an increased supply. Therefore, they are hoping for a better price. This may not happen.

We can only assume it will trickle down to good used guns. :(

I was at the gun show in Pasadena, TX today and noticed marked increases in prices. AK-47s were going for $100 more than they were last summer.

Same thing here in San Antonio, went to our gun show today and just about everything was higher, but that wasn't stopping anyone. Fire Marshall showed up and they had count people, it was crazy!

Some of you mentioned Buds, I will never use that place again to buy a gun. Today was day eight and they still haven't shipped my pistol. Called to ask them what the deal was and they said that have 2200 guns to send out this weekend. She said you'll get it when you get it. GOG had my guns in my hand on the second day from ordering it. Think I'll stick with them, plus it was $70 cheaper than Buds.

Panic buying, I've noticed the local Gander Mtn doesnn't have any cheap 7.62x39 ammo and .22lr and .223 selection was pretty thin the last time I was in there. I'm glad I reload so I can keep the majority of my guns fed, I do need to find a local supplier for components though, not many places that carry the stuff locally.
