Gun in The Sopranos...

I was watching the episode in which Jackie Jr. gets killed and started to wonder what gun was that they shot him and showed in close-up. It looked like a Glock but it seemed too tiny, maybe it was because the hitman's hand was huge... Anyway, when he fired the slide didn't seem to move at all, is that possible on a semi-auto ??? Do you guys remember that episode? If so what gun would that be?

Movie guns use blanks which may be the reason for not loading.

I haven't not seen the episode yet, we are little behind you.

I think Ken Strayhorn probably has the correct answer. Movie producers/directors don't like to have their actors hit directly with blanks and that scene required pointing the gun at the actor at a close range.
