Gun in a bag

Today a friend handed me a bag of parts and several pieces to a Revelation model 300 12 ga. Aside from a worn firing pin, it looks salvageable. From what I have read about the gun it was made by Savage (don't know the date) and is pretty much identical to the Savage model 30.

I'm having a bit of difficulty figuring out where some of the springs go. Does the hook in the slide lock spring go around the groove in the hammer bushing? I had it together this way but there doesn't seem to be enough clearance between the spring and the mainspring plunger. I'm also stuck on the slide lock release spring. Where does it go? Anyway I move it, there doesn't seem to be enough tension on it to do anything.

Going out on a limb here:o:
Does anyone have an old Savage/Stevens trigger assy. lying around? If so, could you snap a few pics?

Look here, perhaps it will help with assembly:
Google for "savage model 30 disassembly", Google books has the Gun Digest Book of Firearms Assembly/Disassembly By J. Wood online. I can't post the very long link, just Google it.

When I was an armorer, I'd get the "bag 'o parts" at least once a month. One of the guys would come in with a paper bag full of disassembled East European pistol the "his friend" had taken apart.

I feel for ya!

Thanks for the link T.

What do you guys think about fixing a firing pin? The rear of the pin where the hammer hits is worn down. Would a bead of weld be sufficent to build it back up or would it be too brittle? I could make one out of drill rod but I would like to try fixing the old one first.
