Gun id?

Hello there.

A post from Glock Talk sent me here. I'm hoping you can help me with an unknown gun that I have. From what I've been able to find, the pistol is nothing special but it confuses me.

It's a SAO .22 revolver.

On the left side of the barrel is:

ROHM GMBH.SONTHE IM/BRZ.
MOD.66 CAL.22 l.r.

On the right side of the barrel is:
MADE IN GERMANY

Left side of frame has a 72 stamped in it

On the right side of the frame is:
RD IND MIAMI FLA. (that Miami, Fla is the part that confuses me)

On the grips (plastic) is stamped:
RG

Stamped in the bottom is:
IB 131796

The cylinder does not drop to be loaded, there is a little door on the right side that drops so you can put in one round at a time.

Any info would be greatly apprecitated.

Many thanks.

Rzrseg, the revolver you're describing is a model RG-66 that was manufactured by Rohm Gmbh located in Sontheim/Brenz, Germany and imported to the USA, during the 60's, 70's & 80's, by R.G. Industries out of Miami, FL. Importation ceased in 1986. Hope this helps!

Those little guns were made to be sold at the cheapest possible price. They just miss the "saturday night special" category. At one point, the retail price was around $19. They will not stand up to much use and generally have little value. There is no collector interest.
