Gun-control: Medicene for the weak-minded?

[arg, forgive my poor spelling!]

While standing under a hot shower at 5:13am in my usual morning stuper, I thought about something... I tend to not pay any attention to where my rambling thoughts lead, but I thought I would share this with you..

[WARNING! THIS IS A "QUESTION REALITY" RANT]

One thought leading to another left me with this:

I really wish I could remember the name of this mental ailment, but for the life of me.. I can't think of the name. (Whats new right?) At any rate.. I'm sure everyone has heard of the people who often times believe that they are sick, when in reality, they are not. However, the interesting thing is.. is that they so strongly believe that they are sick, that the only way to "cure" them is to prescribe medicine. Well, this leads doctors to prescribe bogus medicine, often nothing more than sugar pills. If all goes well, the individual will ultimately believe that they are cured.

In the same sense, there are these individuals that often so strongly believe that they are sick, that they actually make themselves sick. Not to the extent that believing that they have disease X, and end up getting it.. but worry so much over it they just get sick.

In contrast, could it be that individuals that think something is so wrong with gun ownership, that they require "gun-control medicine" to feel better? I don't want to harp on this anymore than to give y'all something dumb to think about this morning.

In a different light, I think it would be interesting if it could be proven, that these same people that are so convinced that something is actually wrong with gun onwership, THAT they actually contribue to the problem because they believe in it so strongly?

Just something to think about.. and heres a little propoganda I collected this morning:

Hey, KaMaKaZe, the word is "hypocondriac" (I think I spelled it right). And you're probably not to far off the mark (I'm a pharmacist and I have a few patients who qualify ;) ).

Preciate the comment guys..

I think I'd be willing to allow politicians the chance to prove their point.. on the following condition. I would allow for my guns to be licensed, registered, confiscated, more gun laws, whatever for a certain amount of time. If it could be proven as such that this method reduced crime (gun related or not) then so be it. However, if nothing came of it, or crime worsened, than I would expect to get my guns back. Now, I know I know such a thing would never happen.. but I'd just like to be there to say "I told you so!"

Not that I would really give up all of my guns.. and NOT that they'd really hold their side of the bargian anyway..
