They keep getting away with it because of the media
The gun banning crowd (Bloomburg especially) has access to the same information/statistics. So does the news media. Yet both get away with disregarding the facts. The reason is, the mainstream News Media and the gun ban crowd have the exact same polictical agendas.
I never see reporters challenging gun control statements with such statistics as these, but I do see them instantaniously challenge anyone with a pro-2nd Amendment stance.
Gun Banners almost always say they want to outlaw guns in order to "increase child safety" but if true, why is the collective gun banning crowd almost invariably Pro-Abortion?
Abortions kill millions of children each year. But suggest Abortions be illegal, and the News Media and the left wing gun ban crowd has a collective aneurysm. Suggest a gun ban, and not a peep out of the media in protest.

I truly thought I was. I was talking about Bloomburg and the gun ban crowd disregarding facts.

I used it as an example in order to demonstrate, the fact, that the gun banners are able to get away with crazy proposals, by claiming they care about child safety, but they never get challenged with the statistics by the news media.
His thread dealt with Mayor Bloomburg and the other anti gun extremists announcing a nationwide effort to outlaw guns in other states, due to guns being "illegally" introduced to New York City. The Anti gun crowd, always claims they are concerned with deaths of the innocent. But it is not a true concern. That is why I used Abortion as an example.
The truth is, more American infants choke to death each year than die from gun accidents, but the anti-gun Bloomburger types don't announce a nationwide effort to ban all objects smaller than a golf ball.
The point I was trying to make, is the anti-firearm crowd's main driving force, is not "saving the innocent" from accidents, there main driving force is simply hating guns, and that the media allows the anti gun people to go unchallenged. The major networks never, ever, challenge Bloomburg with the type of stats that his link to the article point out. So I was not trying to change the topic to abortion. I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy of gun control leftists who claim their actual motivation is to halt deaths by accidents.
