Gun Comtrol Laws a Costly Failure in Canada

The cost incurred by the Canadian Goverenment to register a gun. as of January 14th, 200, was $ (Candian) 1252.96
per gun.

The RCMP says "the number of owners appliying for liscences wil be much lower than forecast, which suggests very low compliance, less than 10%."

The Canadian goverenment estimates that there are 7.4 million privately owned firearms in Canada. If only 700.000 are registered due to wide spread civil disobedience the program will obviously be a failure.

I am really surprised they even gave up that easy, I would have assumed that those French
men, if I may, would brisk right up to any gun control, but then I have never been to Canada-

I have afreind that lives in England though
and she just recently had met us when she wanted to learn how to shoot a gun- so we taught her, she was so excited! That is until she went home and talked of her new expierence, now everybody shuns her as if she doesn't no longer fit in their society-
Who knows maybe she'll try to come here nad live- Casull

If Hard Ball's figures are correct, there are still over 6 million firearms available to a potential rebel force in Canada. Surely the Canadian government would be committing suicide if it tried to enforce this law by attacking its citizens. Probably the ruling party will just try to save face by bluffing and bullying a little, then not enforcing their ban. I would not want to see the U.S. get itself into this situation, as it is potentially explosive. Unforeseen incidents could escalate the situation violently and honest citizens whose support in the past has been essential in maintaing the Canadian state will be unable to go to the aid of the current regime.
As for the English girl who Casull says is being shunned, I can only speculate that she is being shunned because others fear to associate with her because of the consequences that could befall them for being suspected of having politically incorrect views. This is a common behavior for those who live under totalitarian and dictatorial regemes and it is sad to hear of such things going on in England. There has been a steady stream of disturbing reports coming to this board about the current situation in England, any one of which could be easily dismissed, but they are starting to build up in a way that is quite unsavory.

The British Bulldog has become the lapdog of Europe. The country that gave us Elizabeth I, Cromwell, Churchill, and Maggie Thatcher, now gives us Tony Blair and animal rights. What a bunch of wimps!

Over $1200 just to register a gun!
Just imagine what the cost will be (police overtime and assorted court costs) if they ever try to enforce this turkey.
